Michael Skora prepped at Hinsdale Central High School in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. In 2022, he placed third at the IHSA Class 3A Hinsdale (Central) Regional cross country meet. As a member of the 4×800-meter relay, he is a two-time Nike outdoor national champion (2022 and 2023) and a New Balance indoor national champion (2023). His prep best times include 1:54.67 in the 800 meters, 4:10.64 in the 1,500 meters and 14:58.7 in the 3 miles (XC).
