Jack DesRoches prepped at Jesuit, where he recorded prep bests of 4:16.03 in the mile and 9:08.70 in the 3,200 meters. As a senior in high school, he was the LHSAA cross country state champion, runner-up in the 1,600 meters at the LHSAA State Outdoor Track and Field Championships and placed top 10 in two events at the Nike Indoor Nationals. He is a three-time state champion in track and field (4x800m relay and 3,200 meters). DesRoches was the runner-up at the state cross country championships as a junior and placed fourth as a sophomore.
